The Vaqueros de Bayamón took control of Conference A in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional with a 107-99 win over the Criollos de Caguas at the Coliseo Rubén Rodríguez. Jassel Pérez scored 23 of his 32 points in the second half and Javier Ezquerra fell just short of a triple-double to lead the Vaqueros to victory. The win gave Bayamón a two-game lead over Caguas and solidified their position at the top of Conference A with a 21-11 record. The Criollos now stand at 18-12. Jae Crowder also had a strong game with 18 points. In the loss, Travis Trice finished with 35 points and nine assists, while Moses Brown recorded a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. In another game, the Gigantes de Carolina-Canóvanas overcame a 14-point deficit to defeat the Cangrejeros de Santurce and hold onto third place in Conference A. Tremont Waters led the way with 30 points, including a three-pointer in the final seconds that sealed the win. Jaylen Nowell added 16 points, Hunter Tyson had 15, and Scottie James had 13, including 13 rebounds. For the Cangrejeros, Ian Clark was the top scorer with 23 points and five three-pointers. At the Coliseo Manuel “Petaca” Iguina, the Capitanes de Arecibo beat the Atléticos de San Germán 106-85. Alfonso Plummer led the Capitanes with 22 points, including five three-pointers. For the Atléticos, Marlon Hargis was the top scorer with 20 points. At the Palacio de Recreación y Deportes Germán “Wilkins” Vélez, the Santeros de Aguada defeated the Indios de Mayagüez 92-85. Rigoberto Mendoza helped the Santeros pull away with 27 points, including four three-pointers in six attempts, eight rebounds, and five assists. In the loss, Tyrell Harrison finished with a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. The Vaqueros de Bayamón now focus on their next game, while the Criollos de Caguas look to bounce back from the loss. The competition in Conference A of the BSN remains intense, with several teams fighting for playoff positions.
